The snowflakes have started falling here in Park City and the time to ride our bikes is drawing to an end. Luckily, we’ve still had some stunning Fall days, so we are still getting out and pulling off a few turns before our mountains are covered in the dry fluffy powder. This last trail ride, Wasatch Crest Trail, is my favorite and one I would highly recommend. You will need a vehicle to shuttle back and forth, but it’s worth it. Starting from Guardsman Pass (back side of Deer Valley), you ride along the spine of the Wasatch Mountains which divide Big Cottonwood Canyon and the town of Park City. There are portions of the trail where you are looking down at Solitude Resort in Big Cotton Wood Canyon and at Park City Mountain Resort at the same time. There is one tough section of the climb which has been nicknamed “Puke Hill”, but after that, the ride is not difficult with more gentle hill climbs, buffed out sections of trail, and a few easy to navigate rocky sections.
