The leaves are changing color and with cooler temperatures it’s a great time to get out on the trails. With so many different rides to choose from in Park City, I decided to pick out a ride that has some amazing views but is still relatively easy to access. Using that criteria I choose to ride Flagstaff loop which brings you up to an elevation of approximately 9000 ft, but without the difficult climbs and long distances along the way.

To access Flagstaff loop climb up Tour Des Suds or Team Big Bear, both come off the Mid Mountain trail just above the Empire Pass area of Deer Valley. I started this ride from the parking lot at Empire Pass (next to the Talisker Sales office) and rode up the hill under the Ruby Express Chair until I connected to the Mid Mountain Trail.
After the climb-up either Team Big Bear or Tour Des Suds, connect to the trail head off the gravel road. This connection is made just beyond the Red Cloud chair lift on the right-side of the gravel road. After the climb up, Flagstaff loop actually has little elevation change offering fun cruisers through the trees and out into large meadows. What makes this ride unique are the views of mountain vistas, valleys, and of Deer Creek Reservoir.
